Amicus Curiae (‘Friend of the Court’) is the official journal of theSociety for Advanced Legal Studiesand the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, School of Advanced Study, University of London. It seeks to promote communication and cooperation within the legal community, examining a variety of issues, theoretical, administrative, practical and empirical, by means of essays, notes, reviews and news reports. Published three times a year, it promotes rigorous scholarship that seeks to advance legal understanding, especially of topical questions, through the contributions of various kinds of legal specialist offering a range of perspectives.
